Annual Small–Group Scheduled Trips

Welcome To Our Annual Scheduled Trip Programs!

Since 1988, Himalayan High Treks has provided treks and personal arrangements for independent, spirited travelers and small groups wishing to explore the Himalayan world and its rich culture. We have an intimate, first-hand knowledge of the majestic Himalayan region — India (Ladkah, Sikkim, Garhwal, Himachal Pradesh), Bhutan, Nepal, Tibet and Southeast Asia (Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam).

We offer original itineraries, experienced guidance and logistics for pilgrimages as well as independent trekking and touring — from easy day hikes and comfortable hotels, to strenuous, 20-day treks camping at high altitudes. We produce complete trek and tour packages as well as create independent custom itineraries based on your needs. Our service is personal. Our staff will become your friends. Your memories will last a lifetime!

Our Small Group Trips are currently suspended. Check back for updates soon.
In the meantime, we can run Custom trips.

Registration & Trip Administration Information

To Apply:

Our main desktop site offers instant online trip application, which you can access here. You can download application forms at these links for our Scheduled Treks or Tours.

"InTrip Air" Notes:

* This is an estimated "In–Trip" airfare — necessary, part of the scheduled itinerary and separate from the Land Cost. Your total trek expense is the sum of both. Tickets for many small regional carriers aren't available online, so we obtain them locally. Airline fares fluctuate wildly and daily! We always get the lowest In–Trip Air ticket prices possible from our "in–country" agents. Airfare from your home to the starting point and back is not included!

Trip Difficulty Ratings:

Mild: Little to no camping. Accommodations are most often in comfortable guest houses or small hotels. Hiking is usually mild and can include day hikes of less than four hours in length, which may or may not be at high altitude — depending on the trip. Vehicle time can become long with some fatigue on rough roads.

Moderate: Usually involves hiking an average of four to six hours each day — with some trekking time being spent at high altitude. Accommodations consist of evenings spent at tea or guest houses and tent camping along the trail.

Strenuous: Usually involves high-altitude hiking, crossing passes and/or climbing peaks as high as 18,000 feet. Daily hiking is extensive — sometimes for as much as eight or nine hours. These trips are also longer in overall duration and are designed for experienced hikers who want to be challenged. Scheduled treks do not require technical climbing skills and include days for rest, but overall these trips are arduous and are meant for hearty hikers.

Remember... the primary differences between 'trekking' and 'backpacking': On each of our Small–Group Trips, you never carry more than a day pack with your personal items. While on the trail, three daily meals and accommodation are provided — horses, yaks or porters carry the complete expedition load, as well as your own items, along the rugged mountain trails.
